No—not both desktop cards. NVIDIA announced the desktop GeForce RTX 5070 for February 2025 and the desktop RTX 5060 for May. April applied to the separate RTX 5060 Ti and to RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs, which helps explain the headline’s ambiguity. The February headline described a possibility, not a confirmed April launch for both desktop models.
What NVIDIA announced for the desktop cards
NVIDIA’s January 6, 2025 announcement put the desktop GeForce RTX 5070 on a February availability schedule, with a starting price of $549. The announcement established NVIDIA’s planned window and price; it does not, by itself, establish when cards were actually in stock or what buyers paid.

On April 15, NVIDIA announced that desktop RTX 5060 cards would be available starting in May 2025, at a starting price of $299. That is a later announced window than the one initially given for the RTX 5070, but it is not an April desktop RTX 5060 launch.

|---|---|---|
| GeForce RTX 5070 | February 2025 | $549 |
| GeForce RTX 5060 | Starting in May 2025 | $299 |
These are the launch windows and starting prices in NVIDIA’s announcements, not independently verified stock or transaction prices. NVIDIA’s January 2025 GeForce RTX 50 Series announcement and its April 2025 RTX 5060 family announcement provide the official figures.

Why April appears in the story
The RTX 5060 Ti was a different desktop GPU
NVIDIA said the RTX 5060 Ti would be available starting April 16, 2025. It announced starting prices of $429 for the 16GB version and $379 for the 8GB version. The Ti is a separate model, not another name for the RTX 5060.
The RTX 5070 Laptop GPU had a separate schedule
NVIDIA’s January announcement placed RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs in April. That is a mobile product schedule, distinct from the desktop RTX 5070’s February announcement. NVIDIA’s GeForce announcement page covers the desktop and laptop timing separately.

The exact headline, “Nvidia RTX 5070 and 5060 Delays Could Push Launch Into April,” was listed in a contemporaneous Bug.hr forum post dated February 14, 2025, which attributed it to ExtremeTech. That reference confirms the conditional headline was circulating; it does not establish the original article’s underlying evidence or explain what caused the reported possibility.
Because the original ExtremeTech report and its supporting evidence are not available here, a specific cause—such as manufacturing problems or competition—cannot be confirmed. The headline’s “could” also matters: it described a possible schedule change, not an official promise that both desktop cards would launch in April.
