Roblox does not document a legitimate way to bypass age verification. If a check is blocking a feature, complete the age check shown in Settings > Account Info. If Roblox assigned the wrong age, use the birthday or verification correction option available for your account. Roblox lists facial age estimation and ID verification as its age-check methods.
What Roblox age verification affects
Roblox uses age checks to help provide age-appropriate access. Its current support guidance lists chat, Restricted Content, chat without filters with trusted friends, and collaboration using Team Create in Studio among features that require an age check. Access can also depend on account settings and region, so passing a check does not guarantee every feature is available to every account.
Voice chat has its own stated threshold: users must be at least 13 and age checked to be eligible. Voice chat and its verification options may not be available for every account or in every region. See Roblox’s Voice Chat requirements.
Choose an official age-check method
| Method | What you provide | Eligibility and caveats |
|---|---|---|
| Facial age estimation | A facial image and video for an age estimate. | Start from Account Info. In some regions, parental approval may be required. |
| ID verification | Your own government-issued photo ID and a photo for comparison. | Available to users aged 13 or older; use an accepted document such as a driver’s license, passport, or residency card. |
These are the age-check methods Roblox describes; it does not identify an outside service or a workaround as a substitute. For the age-check overview, see Understanding Age Checks on Roblox.

Complete facial age estimation
- Sign in to Roblox and open Settings > Account Info.
- Under Age Group, select Continue with selfie.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to capture the requested facial image and video.
- Review the age group Roblox assigns and use the correction route below if you believe it is wrong.
Roblox says the process analyzes the facial image and video to estimate an age group. Its guidance says the images and video are deleted after processing and that Roblox does not receive or store biometric data from facial age estimation. Those are Roblox’s statements, not an independent audit. The process details are in How does Roblox estimate my age?
Complete ID verification
- In Settings > Account Info, select Continue with ID.
- Scan your government-issued photo ID using the on-screen instructions.
- Capture the requested photo so Roblox can compare it with the document.
ID verification is for users aged 13 or older. Roblox Support specifically instructs users to use their own official document during verification; do not use someone else’s ID. See Roblox ID Verification.

If Roblox gave you the wrong age
Your account is over 13
If the birthday or age result is incorrect and your account is over 13, Roblox says you can select Continue with ID in Account Info to verify your birthday. This route still requires your own government-issued photo ID and is limited to users aged 13 or older.
Your account is under 13
Roblox says an under-13 account may have a birthday-edit option in Account Info. A parent linked to the account may also be able to update a child’s birthday after facial age estimation, subject to Roblox’s restrictions. Roblox’s birthday guidance explains the available edits and limits: How do I change my age?

The selfie estimate could not be completed
Roblox directs users whose facial age estimation could not estimate their age to complete ID verification. That option remains available only to users aged 13 or older.
Know the limits before trying again
- Roblox says an age-checked status can be undone only once per account.
- A linked parent can update a child’s birthday only once. A previous government-ID verification may prevent a parent from changing the birthday through parental controls.
- If you reported that you were over 13 but facial estimation places you under 13, Roblox describes a 48-hour grace period before the age-group update becomes final. You can accept the result early to skip the wait.
These limits and correction routes are subject to Roblox’s account and regional rules. Check the current instructions in Roblox’s age-check overview and birthday-change guidance before using a one-time option.

What to do if the option is missing
- Open Settings > Account Info and check which age-check option Roblox offers for your account.
- If you are under 13, do not try ID verification; Roblox limits that method to users aged 13 or older.
- If you are eligible but the option is unavailable, consider that the feature or method may not be supported for your account or region.
- If your age result is wrong, use the account birthday, ID, or linked-parent correction route that applies to your account rather than submitting someone else’s document or seeking a bypass.
Roblox’s Privacy and Cookie Policy, effective April 30, 2026, says age-assessment images are deleted once the process is complete. This is Roblox’s published policy statement: Roblox Privacy and Cookie Policy.
