None. Ubisoft says you do not need prior knowledge of the Assassin’s Creed games to enjoy Heredis: Echoes of the Past. The production is a live show, not a story that requires a particular game as homework. Playing the series beforehand is optional if you want broader franchise context.
Do you need to play Assassin’s Creed before Heredis?
No. Ubisoft’s official announcement explicitly says the show can be enjoyed without prior knowledge of the game series. It does not identify any game as preparation or say that the show adapts a particular game’s story.
What is Heredis: Echoes of the Past?
Heredis: Echoes of the Past is an original live show created by the 7 Fingers Troupe. Ubisoft describes it as combining acrobatics, parkour, theater, and history. Its announced premise follows a young man traveling across history to find his lost father. The announcement does not specify a particular game character or historical period as the basis for that story.
Ubisoft announced a world premiere at Théâtre Maisonneuve, Place des Arts, in Montreal on December 3, 2026, and Paris performances at Casino de Paris beginning January 21, 2027. Additional dates were to be announced. Because performance schedules and ticket availability can change, check the venue or official show information near the date you plan to attend.

If you want to play the games anyway
For optional franchise context, a straightforward choice is to start with the original Assassin’s Creed and then follow the early games in release order. Ubisoft’s release-order guide describes the first game as introducing Desmond Miles and Altaïr, followed by three games centered on Ezio.
- Assassin’s Creed
- Assassin’s Creed II
- Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
- Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
Ubisoft’s guide presents Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations as Ezio’s three-game arc; Revelations also revisits Altaïr’s memories. This is a sensible optional route through early series continuity, not a Heredis watchlist. Ubisoft describes Assassin’s Creed as a metanarrative spanning centuries and historical periods, but neither its series guide nor its show announcement says that playing these games explains the production. See Ubisoft’s release-order guide for its broader list and summaries.
