How to Check Nintendo eShop Server Status and Maintenance Schedules

Find Nintendo’s official regional network status page, distinguish outages from scheduled maintenance, and troubleshoot eShop connection problems when no notice is posted.

To find out whether Nintendo eShop is down or under maintenance, check Nintendo’s official Network Status or Network Maintenance Information / Operational Status page for your region. It separates current outages, active maintenance and planned maintenance. Read the dates and times shown on that regional page; Nintendo’s materials do not establish one timezone convention for every region.

Check Nintendo’s official network status page

  1. Open Nintendo Support for your region and select its Network status link, or go directly to the official regional network status page. Nintendo’s U.S. support articles link to the status page, and Nintendo Japan’s FAQ directs Switch 2 and Switch users to its network maintenance and status resource: Nintendo of America: Error Code 2813-9200 and Nintendo Support Japan.

  2. On the status page, check current outages, then current maintenance, and finally the future maintenance schedule if you are planning a purchase, download or code redemption. These are separate categories on Nintendo’s Japan status page: Network Maintenance Information / Operational Status.

  3. Look for the Nintendo eShop or the specific network service and activity you need. A notice for another Nintendo service does not, by itself, show that eShop purchases or downloads are affected. Nintendo may list separate entries for the same service when the affected area differs.

    #1 Best Overall
    Nintendo Switch 2 System
    • The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
    • One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
    • Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
    • Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
    • GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
  4. Read the listed date, approximate start and end times, affected service, and any indication that the issue is ongoing. Use the date and time shown on the regional page that applies to your account and console; do not assume a timezone conversion.

How to interpret outages and maintenance notices

Current outage

An outage entry signals a reported disruption for the service and affected area named in the notice. Confirm that it matches the eShop function you are trying to use rather than assuming every Nintendo online service is unavailable.

  • Three play modes: TV, tabletop, and handheld
  • Local co-op, online, and local wireless multiplayer

Current maintenance

Active maintenance can prevent a service from working. For error code 2813-9200, Nintendo says eShop server maintenance is ongoing and advises redeeming a download code after maintenance has ended. See Nintendo’s 2813-9200 support article.

Scheduled future maintenance

A future entry is a planned window, not proof that the service is currently down. If a purchase, download or redemption is time-sensitive, check the page again near the listed window and after it ends.

If there is no matching notice

An empty status page does not rule out a brief or newly developing issue. Nintendo warns that status updates can be delayed and maintenance lasting under five minutes may not be posted. Recheck the live page before concluding the problem is local. Nintendo also notes that the eShop may be temporarily unavailable in its white-screen troubleshooting article.

If the eShop still will not load and no matching notice appears, try Nintendo’s troubleshooting steps in a practical order:

Use error codes as clues

Error code 2813-9200 specifically indicates ongoing Nintendo eShop server maintenance, according to Nintendo Support. For error 2137-7504, Nintendo’s indexed support guidance says to check the network status page; if the error persists and no maintenance is posted, try again later. A code is useful context, but still check the status page for the current service notice.
