The locked outhouse is on the western to southwestern waterfront side of Braithwaite Manor, among the trees just south of a small cluster of worker buildings. Listen for a woman’s voice as you approach. To add Braithwaite’s Secret to Arthur’s journal, peek inside first, then inspect the location.
Where to look
Braithwaite Manor is in Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne. The outhouse is not part of the main manor: search the estate’s waterfront side, west or southwest of the house, using the shoreline and nearby worker buildings to orient yourself. The descriptions place it near the southwest corner and just south of the small buildings, so focus on the trees beside that cluster rather than searching inland.

Look for a small white outhouse with a chain on its door. As Arthur gets close, listen for a woman calling or babbling; follow the sound if the structure is not immediately visible. The nearby buildings and voice are more useful than trying to follow one exact compass direction.
How to record Braithwaite’s Secret
- Approach as Arthur. This point of interest is discoverable by Arthur, not simply by reaching the manor with another character.
- Peek through the opening. Interact with the outhouse to look inside. The woman reaches toward Arthur during this interaction.
- Inspect the location afterward. Once you have peeked inside, inspect the site to record Braithwaite’s Secret in Arthur’s journal or notebook. Trying to inspect before peeking is not the sequence described in the location guide.
Optional later-game spoiler
RDR2.org reports that if you return after Chapter 6, the woman is dead and her skeleton is in the outhouse. This is a later state of the location, not a step needed to find or record the point of interest. Her name is given as Gertrude Braithwaite; further background is not needed to locate the outhouse.
