The early Intel Arc A730M results did not show one consistent GeForce equivalent. In the June 2022 games reported by HotHardware and Tom’s Hardware, performance ranged from roughly RTX 3050 Mobile-like to RTX 3060 Mobile-like, depending on the game. A separate Time Spy Graphics score sat between cited mobile RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti averages—but that was one synthetic result, not evidence of RTX 3070-class gaming overall.
What the early A730M benchmarks said
HotHardware’s June 7, 2022 report covered results posted by a Weibo user testing an A730M laptop with a Core i7-12700H. The outlet said the software configuration and GPU driver state were unknown, so the figures are best treated as preliminary results from that particular system.
One Time Spy score looked much higher than the game results
The system scored 10,107 in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics. HotHardware compared that single score with Notebookcheck averages of 9,663.5 for mobile GeForce RTX 3070 and 10,409 for mobile RTX 3070 Ti; it also cited an 8,988.5 average for Radeon RX 6700M. Those figures place the reported A730M score between the two GeForce averages in that benchmark comparison, but they do not establish equivalent performance across games. HotHardware’s report supplies the comparison and its caveat.
Three games suggested a lower, variable comparison
The reported results varied by title and resolution:

HotHardware described the game results as varying between mobile RTX 3050 and RTX 3060 performance. Tom’s Hardware’s interpretation was more title-specific: it called Metro Exodus RTX 3060 Mobile-like, and F1 2020 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey closer to RTX 3050 Mobile. The outlets were discussing a tiny, launch-era sample, not a controlled multi-game comparison. Tom’s Hardware’s coverage also reported very low minimums—9–10 FPS lows in Metro Exodus and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey—and said Shadow of the Tomb Raider crashed on launch. Average FPS alone therefore does not describe smoothness or reliability in that test.
Why a later review changes the comparison
ComputerBase later reviewed the A730M in a Medion Erazer Major X10 and tested GPU power profiles of 120 W, 80 W, and 50 W. In its Time Spy results, the 120 W profile reached 9,552 with a MUX and 8,913 without one; the 80 W profile scored 7,603, and the 50 W profile 4,464. The same comparison list gave a desktop RTX 3060 score of 8,901. ComputerBase characterized the 120 W A730M result as around desktop RTX 3060 level in that test, while lower-power profiles fell behind; its cited 80 W result delivered 20% fewer FPS than 120 W in the synthetic comparison.

This is useful evidence that the A730M’s power configuration can materially change the result. It is not a direct laptop-to-laptop buying prediction: the GeForce comparison is a desktop RTX 3060 benchmark entry, and the system, routing configuration, and test conditions differ. A730M specifications and a separate Intel result
Intel lists the A730M as a launched mobile Arc A-Series GPU with 24 Xe cores, 24 ray-tracing units, 384 execution units, 12 GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit interface, and 336 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Its specified TGP range is 80–120 W, making the laptop’s power profile an essential part of any performance claim. Intel’s Mobile Performance Index separately lists 164 FPS for Apex Legends at 1080p custom medium, DX11. Intel identifies the test system as a Core i7-12700H laptop with 2 × 16 GB DDR5-4800, Windows 11 Pro, and graphics driver 30.0.101.1735; the entry is dated October 20, 2022–October 16, 2023. Intel says its results use PresentMon or in-game benchmarks and documents the workload. This is a vendor-reported data point, not a GeForce head-to-head comparison or confirmation of the Weibo test.

For a useful comparison, match the conditions rather than relying on the GPU name or one headline score. Check:

- Workload and settings: use the same game, graphics preset, resolution, API, and benchmark scene.
- Performance consistency: compare average FPS alongside minimums or frame-time behavior where available.
- GPU power limit: identify the laptop’s A730M profile or TGP; Intel specifies an 80–120 W range, and ComputerBase’s results varied considerably across its tested profiles.
- System configuration: account for CPU, memory, driver version, and whether a MUX or comparable graphics-routing arrangement is active.
Without those details, “on par” can describe one benchmark result while misleading readers about actual game performance. The 2022 evidence supports a workload-dependent comparison—not a single overall RTX tier.
