Phantom Blade Zero is an upcoming dark wuxia action RPG from S-GAME, but it is not due until late October 2026. What to expect from Phantom Blade Zero
PlayStation describes Phantom Blade Zero as a “dark wuxia action RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5.” Its story follows Soul, a swordsman framed for killing his master, with just sixty-six days left to live. The game’s “Kungfupunk” style blends martial arts with punk fantasy and draws on wuxia cinema. PlayStation’s August 2026 announcement gives October 29, 2026 as the general release date, with October 28 in the US and select regions; the Steam listing also gives October 28. S-GAME’s founder, Soulframe Liang, described the studio’s taste for fast hack-and-slash action in a May 24, 2023 PlayStation Blog post: “Stellar titles like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden are insanely exhilarating with their huge arsenal of moves and lightning-fast pace.” That is design context, not a promise that Phantom Blade Zero will play exactly like either series.
In its 2026 deep dive, S-GAME described more than 30 main weapons and 25 Phantom Edges, accessories for different builds, and difficulty options ranging from a story-focused mode to more challenging choices. The presentation also identifies Donnie Yen as creative consultant and performer for Mó Yuan using facial and motion capture. These are developer-announced details, not hands-on findings.
