You can enable DLAA in some games that support DLSS, but the route depends on the title. A February 2023 HotHardware report described DLSSTweaks as a configurable third-party utility for forcing DLAA in many DLSS games. NVIDIA now documents an official NVIDIA App override for specifically listed games. Check NVIDIA’s current compatibility list before changing settings: support is not universal.
What DLAA does—and how it differs from DLSS upscaling
DLAA is an AI-based anti-aliasing technique that uses DLSS Super Resolution technology to construct a high-quality image at native resolution, according to NVIDIA’s DLSS documentation. It prioritizes image quality and smoothing jagged edges rather than rendering from a lower-resolution input to boost performance.
DLSS Super Resolution, by contrast, reconstructs a higher-resolution output from a lower-resolution input and is intended to improve performance. If both choices are available, DLAA is the native-resolution image-quality option; Super Resolution is the upscaling option. The sharper or more stable result depends on the game, its implementation, and your settings.
Use NVIDIA App for games on the official override list
NVIDIA Support documents a DLSS override that can activate DLAA in eligible games without native DLAA support. Its support instructions were updated February 3, 2025 and specify Game Ready Driver 572.16 or newer and NVIDIA App 11.0.2.312 or newer for the DLSS 4 override procedure. Check NVIDIA’s current support instructions for the latest requirements and labels.

- In the game’s graphics settings, enable DLSS Super Resolution, then exit the game to the desktop.
- Open NVIDIA App and go to Graphics > Program settings. Select the game.
- Under Driver Settings, choose DLSS Override – Super Resolution.
- Select the desired mode and apply the change.
- Reopen the game. Check its image and performance; the available result can vary by title and system.
To confirm that a game is eligible, consult NVIDIA’s RTX games list, last updated September 15, 2026. A marker in the DLAA column identifies games where DLAA can be activated through the NVIDIA App override despite lacking native DLAA support. Do not assume that every DLSS game appears there.
What DLSSTweaks offered in the 2023 report
HotHardware’s February 14, 2023 report described DLSSTweaks as a configurable utility that could select DLSS presets and force-enable DLAA in many games supporting DLSS upscaling. It cautioned that the tool was not a simple drop-in upgrade: users needed to edit a configuration file and consult the documentation. That is a description of the tool and setup at the time of the report, not a current installation guide or confirmation of present-day compatibility.

The report named Cyberpunk 2077 as a DLAA-versus-TAA demonstration and said its own tests in Deep Rock Galactic, Monster Hunter Rise, and Hogwarts Legacy favored DLAA over other temporal anti-aliasing options in those examples. It also characterized the performance impact in those cases as “pretty small.” Those were HotHardware’s observations, not a universal result, measured benchmark, or guarantee for other systems. Which route should you choose?
- The game has native DLAA: Use its in-game option. Native support avoids relying on a driver or third-party override.
- The game is marked for NVIDIA App override: Follow NVIDIA’s documented steps. This is the official route described for eligible titles without native DLAA.
- The game is not on NVIDIA’s override list: The list does not establish that the official override works for it. DLSSTweaks was reported to force DLAA in many DLSS titles in 2023, but that report does not establish current compatibility; consult the tool’s own documentation before using it.
Do not confuse DLSSTweaks with NVIDIA App: one is a third-party configuration utility, while the other is NVIDIA’s documented driver/application override. NVIDIA says its DLSS neural-rendering technologies use RTX Tensor Cores, so DLAA requires GeForce RTX hardware.

What to expect from image quality and performance
DLAA may reduce aliasing while keeping output at native resolution, but no source here establishes that it will look sharper in every game or improve every image. NVIDIA describes its current transformer models as improving stability, anti-aliasing, and visual clarity. Separately, DLSSEnhancer’s project notes that preset choices can trade image stability, ghosting, sharpness, and shimmer; that is project documentation, not a controlled comparison. Because DLAA does not upscale from a lower-resolution input, do not select it expecting the performance uplift associated with DLSS Super Resolution. The frame-rate effect of enabling it is system- and game-dependent; the HotHardware report’s qualitative observation applies only to the cases it discussed. Compare DLAA with the game’s other anti-aliasing or upscaling options on your own system.
