Capcom announced Akuma’s May 22, 2024 release on April 29, 2024. Capcom France’s announcement also specifies the year and lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) as the platforms for that release. These are the platforms named in the announcement, not a confirmation of current storefront availability. What does Akuma’s Raging Demon do?
Shun Goku Satsu, commonly called the Raging Demon, is Akuma’s second Level 3 Super Art. It becomes available when his vitality is low enough for a Critical Art and can be used to finish combos. Capcom described this version as letting players see what happens during the one-second nightmare, making the attack’s presentation more explicit than the fleeting implication associated with the move. Capcom’s move description gives the conditions and combo use.
Which modes include Akuma?
Capcom announced Akuma for Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub. In World Tour, players can find him in Enma’s Hollow on Gokuento Island, build a bond with him, and learn moves to assign to their avatar. The announcement also said Enma’s Hollow would be received by Year 1 Ultimate Pass owners on May 22, 2024. The announcement’s mode and stage details describe that content.

Akuma is included in the Year 1 Character Pass, alongside Rashid, A.K.I., and Ed. The official Capcom Town Store listing for the Year 1 Character Pass says Street Fighter 6 is sold separately and required. Buying the base game alone therefore does not establish access to Akuma’s DLC. Check the current store listing for your platform and region for the available editions and terms.

Capcom’s release announcement also mentioned Outfit 3 and a balance patch. Those were part of the May 22, 2024 update context; the announcement does not make them necessary to understand Akuma’s release or the Raging Demon.
