Reach Hunter Rank 21, accept the Street Fighter 6 collaboration mission from Quinn at the Oilwell Basin Base Camp, and complete its quest chain. Then equip either Akuma’s full one-set armor or his layered armor: both unlock Akuma’s special actions in the item bar, but only the full armor provides their stronger attack power and added combat effects.
How to unlock Akuma’s armor and actions
- Update the game. The collaboration launched with Ver. 1.011, according to Capcom’s May 28, 2025 announcement. If the event content does not appear, check that your game is up to date.
- Reach HR 21. Capcom lists Hunter Rank 21 as the starting requirement for the collaboration side missions.
- Find Quinn. Speak to Quinn at the Oilwell Basin Base Camp and accept the Street Fighter 6 collaboration side mission.
- Follow the quest chain. Progress through the side missions into the “Demonic Strength” and “True Strength” Arena Quests to earn collaboration rewards and materials. The announced quest route is described in Capcom’s collaboration announcement.
- Equip Akuma gear. Equip the full Akuma one-set armor or the Akuma layered armor to access the special actions. Exact forging requirements can depend on your progress; check the in-game smithy recipe and quest rewards for the current material counts.
How to use Akuma’s actions
Select actions from the item bar
With Akuma armor equipped, choose the collaboration actions from the item bar. Capcom specifically names “Assisted Combo: Akuma” and “Gou Hadoken”; “Gou Shoryuken” is identified as a gesture. The action selection is separate from your weapon choice, so you can continue using the game’s regular weapons and moves.

Choose armor for the effects you want
Capcom says Akuma’s action attack power changes with your equipped main weapon. The full one-set armor gives the actions substantially higher attack power than the layered set, adds stun effects to “Assisted Combo” actions, and gives “Drive Impact” an offset effect. Layered armor still grants access to the actions, but without those stated combat advantages.
Use the in-game controls for exact inputs
Capcom’s public announcement does not give button-by-button combo instructions. A secondary Kotaku quest and controls guide describes additional inputs and gauge conditions, but button mappings can vary by platform and control layout. Check the game’s controls and item-bar options for the bindings that apply to your setup rather than relying on a universal button sequence.

Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
Full Akuma armor or layered armor?

Capcom says the full Akuma set can be used alongside all 14 weapon types as usual, so choosing it does not lock you into a particular weapon. The actions’ attack power still varies with your main weapon.

No paid cosmetic item is identified as a requirement for Akuma’s armor or actions. Capcom presented the Akuma equipment and actions as collaboration rewards, while listing items such as Alma’s Chun-Li and Cammy outfits, Street Fighter gestures, stickers, and a Blanka-Chan pendant separately. Those cosmetics were announced in 2025; their current price and storefront availability are not established here.
