Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo restore Morkvarg to human form, investigate Freya’s Garden, read his journal, speak with Einar in Larvik and obtain the cursed wolf fang. Return to the garden, defeat Morkvarg and give him the fang. Feeding him the werewolf meat from his own body is a separate solution: it ends the curse by killing him as a werewolf, without restoring his human form.
Choose the outcome you want
| Route | What happens | What you need to do |
|---|---|---|
| Cursed fang | Morkvarg returns to human form and becomes mortal. You can then kill him or let him go. | Investigate the garden, read the journal and get Einar to explain the fang before returning to Morkvarg. |
| Werewolf meat | The curse ends with Morkvarg’s death as a werewolf; he does not become human. | Take the werewolf meat from Morkvarg’s body and feed it to him. |
Use the fang route if you want to see Morkvarg human or preserve the choice of what happens to him afterward. The meat route is for ending the werewolf without that transformation. Witcher.tools’ quest guide and Games Lantern’s quest page describe these as distinct outcomes.
How to lift the curse with the fang
1. Find Morkvarg in Freya’s Garden
Advance the secondary quest in Skellige until you reach Freya’s Garden and find Morkvarg. After you defeat him, speak with him. An ordinary kill does not end the curse: he returns, so continue investigating rather than repeatedly fighting him. He describes his constant hunger and offers a lead about hidden treasure in exchange for help.
2. Search the garden and read Morkvarg’s journal
Use Witcher Senses to find the key Morkvarg mentions. Use it to unlock the chapter house, then investigate the route below his lair into the flooded cave. Search there with Witcher Senses and read Morkvarg’s journal. The journal links Einar to Morkvarg’s crew and gives Geralt grounds to challenge Einar’s story.

3. Confront Einar in Larvik without attacking first
Go to Larvik and speak with Einar. He initially blames Morkvarg’s curse on the dying Archpriestess Ulve. Confront him with what you learned from the journal. Einar then admits his connection to Morkvarg’s crew and explains that he used his father Toradar’s runed wolf fang.
Choose dialogue that lets Einar explain the fang rather than immediately attacking him and his crew. Prima Games’ Complete Edition guide warns that taking the aggressive route can leave Geralt with the fang but without the explanation needed to use it to complete the quest.

4. Return to the garden and give Morkvarg the fang
Go back to Freya’s Garden, defeat Morkvarg again and choose the dialogue option to hand him the fang. This lifts the curse and restores him to human form, where he is mortal.
5. Decide what happens to human Morkvarg
After the transformation, you can kill him or let him go. If you let him leave, he gives Geralt a lead to his treasure with a moneylender in Novigrad’s Bits district. The treasure-related items named in the quest guide are the relic silver sword Deithwen and a page on werewolf decoction; pursuing that lead is not required to lift the curse.

Alternative: feed Morkvarg his own werewolf meat
If you do not need Morkvarg to become human, take the werewolf meat from his body and feed it to him. The guides describe this as ending the curse through his death in werewolf form. This is not the same outcome as using the fang: there is no human Morkvarg to question, kill or release afterward.

A normal fight in the garden is not a curse resolution. Morkvarg revives after a short in-game interval or when Geralt leaves the garden, according to the quest guide. Follow the investigation and use one of the two resolution paths instead of treating another ordinary kill as the solution.
