Pokémon acknowledged in January 2025 that high demand was making some Prismatic Evolutions products difficult to buy at launch. The company said it was printing more affected products at maximum capacity and expected reprints to reach participating retailers as soon as possible—but it did not give a restock date, print quantity, or guarantee of immediate availability.
What did Pokémon say about Prismatic Evolutions availability?
On January 23, 2025, PC Gamer reported that fans were having difficulty finding some Prismatic Evolutions products after launch. The special set was sold in boxed formats including Elite Trainer Boxes and Booster Bundles. PC Gamer reproduced a statement attributed to the Pokémon TCG’s official X account, which acknowledged that high demand was affecting availability of certain products.
“We’re aware that some fans may experience difficulties purchasing certain Prismatic Evolutions products at launch due to high demand impacting availability,” the Pokémon TCG’s official X account said. It added that it was “actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity.” Reprinted products were expected at participating retailers “as soon as possible,” the statement said, thanking the community for its “continued support and patience.”
PC Gamer’s January 23, 2025 report attributes the statement to the official account, not to a named spokesperson. The acknowledgment concerned certain products; it did not say every format or retailer was out of stock.

Was Pokémon reprinting Prismatic Evolutions?
Yes. In the January statement, Pokémon said it was working to print more of the affected products at maximum capacity, with reprints expected at participating retailers as soon as possible. That is a stated production and replenishment plan, not a dated restock announcement: the statement specified no quantity, schedule, or guarantee that a particular store or product would be available.
What did the later Pokémon TCG availability update add?
On March 27, 2025, Pokémon published a broader update saying high demand was affecting availability of certain Pokémon TCG products. It said it was actively working to print more impacted products and expected reprints at participating retailers, including Pokémon Center, as soon as possible. The company also said it was maximizing production of future expansions to improve availability at launch. For some Pokémon Center releases during periods of high site traffic, it described virtual queues as a way to manage demand.

The March statement was about Pokémon TCG product availability generally. It did not provide a Prismatic Evolutions-specific restock date or quantity, and it does not establish that the set’s shortage was resolved. Read Pokémon’s March 27, 2025 availability update.
Why was Prismatic Evolutions hard to find?
Pokémon’s stated explanation was high demand affecting availability at launch. The available statements do not quantify the shortfall or give a print-run figure, so there is no supported market-wide shortage statistic to cite. PC Gamer’s January 2025 report described resale listings above £100 for some Elite Trainer Boxes and later observed boxes at £70–£80; those were historical examples in that report, not representative market data or guidance on today’s prices.

How to check where to buy it
Because the statements date to 2025 and do not show current inventory, check retailer listings directly before deciding where to buy. Compare the exact format—such as an Elite Trainer Box or Booster Bundle—and confirm both the seller and price before checkout.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
- Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Booster Bundle contains six booster packs from Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black.
- This is a great option for getting into the new Choas Rising expansion.
- A great gift for the Pokémon collector or player in your life.
- Authorized retailer: Check the retailer’s current stock and stated price, and verify who is actually selling the product, especially on marketplace listings.
- Resale marketplace: Treat the asking price as a seller’s current offer, not as Pokémon’s price or proof of scarcity. Compare it with retailer pricing and inspect seller details before purchasing.
- Format: Confirm the listing is for the product you want; an Elite Trainer Box and a Booster Bundle are different boxed products.
