Yes. Sony’s PlayStation VR2 PC adapter launched on August 7, 2024, and lets you use the PS VR2 headset to play compatible SteamVR titles on a Windows PC. You need more than the adapter: a compatible PC with a standard DisplayPort output, a separately sold DisplayPort 1.4 cable, Steam, SteamVR and the PlayStation VR2 app. Some PS5 headset and controller features are not available on PC.
What you need to use PS VR2 on PC
Sony’s PC connection uses its PlayStation VR2 PC adapter, model CFI-ZVP1. The adapter launched globally on August 7, 2024; it is no longer an upcoming product. Sony’s announcement and current compatibility guidance identify these requirements:
- The PlayStation VR2 PC adapter.
- A DisplayPort 1.4 cable, sold separately.
- A Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit PC that meets Sony’s minimum specifications.
- Steam, SteamVR and the PlayStation VR2 app. A Steam account is needed to access Steam games.
Sony’s June 2024 launch announcement listed estimated prices of $59.99, €59.99 or £49.99 in select retailers and on direct.playstation.com where available. Those were launch estimates, not confirmation of today’s price or stock; check current local listings before buying.
Check the PC’s ports and specifications before buying
The video output is a frequent compatibility trap: Sony requires a standard DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output on the PC. DisplayPort over USB-C is not compatible with the adapter. The DisplayPort 1.4 cable must run directly from the PC’s DisplayPort output to the adapter, and Sony says to connect the adapter directly to a USB 3.0 port rather than through a hub or extension. Some Bluetooth adapters may not work.

The minimums come from Sony’s June 2024 launch announcement; the port and connection cautions are in its compatibility support page. The table is a baseline, not a guarantee that every game will run well: game-specific requirements still apply, and Sony says performance varies with the PC setup and cable quality.
How to set up PS VR2 for SteamVR
- Confirm that the PC meets Sony’s requirements and has a standard DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output. Do not rely on a DisplayPort-over-USB-C connection.
- Connect the PS VR2 headset to the PC through the adapter, using a DisplayPort 1.4 cable connected directly to the PC’s DisplayPort output. Connect the adapter directly to a USB 3.0 port, without a hub or extension.
- Install the PlayStation VR2 app and SteamVR from Steam. Sign in to a Steam account to access Steam games.
- Use the PlayStation VR2 app to configure the headset and play area, then launch a compatible SteamVR game.
Sony’s PC compatibility guide and setup instructions cover the connection and configuration process. Bluetooth 4.0 or later is a listed minimum, but Sony cautions that some Bluetooth adapters may be incompatible.

Which PS VR2 features work on PC?
PC compatibility opens access to SteamVR games, but the experience is not a full copy of PS5 use. Sony lists the following visuals and headset functions as supported on PC:
- 4K visuals, at 2000 × 2040 pixels per eye.
- A 110-degree field of view.
- Finger touch detection.
- See-through view.
- Foveated rendering without eye tracking.
- 3D Audio in supported games, using SteamVR audio technology rather than PS5 Tempest 3D AudioTech.

The adapter gives PS VR2 owners a route to compatible SteamVR games without replacing the headset. At launch, Sony Principal Product Manager Yasuo Takahashi described the benefit as letting players “expand their game library with thousands of SteamVR titles.” That was Sony’s description of the opportunity, not an independently verified count of compatible games.

It does not remove the PC hardware, port, software or feature constraints. Check the graphics output and minimum specifications first, and weigh the SteamVR library against the PS5 features Sony says are missing on PC.
