In Borderlands 4, standard fishing is a grapple interaction at a valid fish spot—not a rod-and-bait minigame. To farm the legendary grenade Slippy, head to the Fishin’ Spot near the Stockroom Silo and Plungeford in Coastal Bonescape, grapple the loot around the lake, then save and quit to repeat the route if Slippy does not drop. Ice Fishing is a separate activity with a different mechanic.
How to fish in Borderlands 4
Find a spot where fish are wading and use your grapple on it to collect the loot. The available guide describes the interaction as grapple-based; it does not specify a button prompt, so follow the control shown for your platform rather than relying on a universal input. Game8’s fishing guide

Use the on-screen fishing prompt to check that a location is valid. In its Version 1.6 notes, published April 29, 2026 and updated July 2, 2026, Borderlands Support says: “Fishing prompts will only appear in places where you can fish.” Official Version 1.6 notes
Where to farm Slippy
PC Gamer recommends the Fishin’ Spot near the Stockroom Silo and Plungeford in Coastal Bonescape, Fadefields, as a Slippy farming location. The guide says Slippy may drop from any Kairos fishing spot, but identifies this spot as its preferred route; that is a published recommendation, not an official drop-rate guarantee. How to repeat the fishing farm
- Travel to the Fishin’ Spot near the Stockroom Silo and Plungeford in Coastal Bonescape, Fadefields.
- Grapple the loot around the lake.
- If Slippy does not drop, save and quit, then reload the game and repeat the route.
The published route does not provide a drop rate or promise a Slippy after a set number of attempts, so treat each run as another chance rather than a guaranteed result. PC Gamer’s Slippy location guide

Ice Fishing is not another step in the standard grapple loop. The official March 26, 2026 update describes it as a dynamic event in the Story Pack and instructs players to throw dynamite at a viable event location.
