Which consoles play Just Dance 2026 Edition?
Ubisoft lists the current edition for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It also says the Switch edition is playable on Nintendo Switch 2 through backward compatibility; the listing does not describe a separate Switch 2 edition.

Do not assume the 2026 edition works on PS4, Xbox One, Wii, or Wii U: the official current-edition sources reviewed do not list those systems. For an older Just Dance game, check that specific edition’s store listing.
Can you play on Nintendo Switch Lite?
Nintendo cautions that compatibility and play experience may differ on Switch Lite. Before buying, check the listing in your region and confirm that the control setup you intend to use is supported.

Do you need a phone to play?
No. A smartphone running the Just Dance Controller app is a companion control option for the console game, not a way to run the game by itself. Ubisoft also offers Camera Controller mode, which uses the phone camera to track movement; Ubisoft says this mode is currently single-player only.
What about online play on PS5?
For online multiplayer and other online features on PlayStation, the listing says you need an internet connection, a Ubisoft Account, a PlayStation Network account, and a PlayStation Plus subscription, sold separately. These requirements apply to the online features described, not necessarily every mode.

How should you choose a console?
If you already own one of the listed consoles, start with that system’s edition. If portability matters, the Switch family offers a portable option; Nintendo describes Joy-Con as a console-native way to play, while the smartphone app provides another control method. There is no universal performance ranking established by the official listings.
Before purchasing, match the game edition to your console and region, and check the listing for any model-specific caveats. Ubisoft’s announcement says Just Dance 2026 Edition is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S; platform listings can vary by country and may change with future editions.
