Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIf you buy digital comics, you usually get access tied to a service or account—not a portable copy you can move between platforms. Subscriptions are access while you remain a member; individual purchases, offline app downloads, and DRM-free PDF files can work differently. Refund rules also depend on the service, purchase channel, and sometimes your country.
What does “owning” a digital comic mean?
For most digital comic services, buying a title does not mean receiving an unrestricted file that you can transfer to another platform. Access is governed by the service’s terms and may remain tied to your account or its app. That differs from owning copyright in the comic, which these platform policies do not grant.
Subscriptions are more clearly conditional: they provide access to a catalog while you are a member, and titles or access can change. Some services also offer individual purchases or downloadable files, so check what the specific product provides rather than relying on the word “buy.”
How the platforms compare
| Service or product | Access model and after cancellation | Downloads and portability | Refund policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marvel Unlimited | Subscription to a selected library. Marvel says the subscription creates no ownership interest in the service or its content. | Temporary offline downloads in the app; purchases and redemptions can be accessed on compatible devices through a Marvel account. No DRM-free export is established. | Subscription payments are generally nonrefundable, with discretion reserved for exceptions. |
| DC UNIVERSE INFINITE | Service access under a limited, revocable license. Purchases are generally final. | Comixology purchases do not appear in a DC UNIVERSE INFINITE account; they remain accessible where purchased. | No refunds unless applicable additional terms specify otherwise. |
| GlobalComix Collection Unlock | License to read an individual release; country licensing may restrict access. | Offline reading requires GlobalComix Gold membership. This is distinct from a PDF download. | Requests go to GlobalComix for website purchases, or Apple/Google for in-app purchases; requests may be denied in specified circumstances. |
| GlobalComix PDF download | Downloadable PDF the platform describes as permanently owned by the buyer. | DRM-free PDF file; distinct from a Collection Unlock’s licensed reading access. | Follow the refund channel for the purchase path; eligibility can depend on preview use or prior refunds. |
| Kindle Unlimited | Borrowed titles are available while membership is active. Amazon may add or remove titles; borrowed titles are removed when membership ends. | Read through Kindle devices or Kindle apps on supported smartphones, computers, and tablets. This is subscription borrowing, not an individually purchased comic. | Membership fees are nonrefundable except where the terms expressly provide otherwise; cancellation stops renewal but does not refund fees already paid. |
| VIZ digital products | Individual digital purchases, subject to VIZ terms. | The cited refund terms do not establish a DRM-free export or cross-service portability right. | Generally final and nonrefundable, with a statutory cooling-off exception in some jurisdictions before consumption. |
Policies and catalog availability can change. These comparisons reflect the cited U.S.-oriented official terms and help material checked October 5, 2026; terms and statutory rights can differ by location and purchase channel.

What happens to subscription comics when you cancel?
Marvel Unlimited
Marvel Worldwide, Inc. or its affiliate(s), as service provider, states: “Your subscription does not create any ownership interest in the Marvel Unlimited Service or any Content.” Its agreement describes the service as a subscription library whose content may be updated. It currently permits subscribers to download comics for offline access per device, but calls those downloads temporary and reserves the right to change or stop offline availability, with reasonable efforts to provide notice.
Do not confuse that subscription access with comics purchased or redeemed through Marvel. Marvel support says those can be accessed on multiple compatible devices in the Marvel Unlimited app using a Marvel account. That establishes an in-app access route, not export to another service.

Kindle Unlimited
Kindle Unlimited provides access to titles on Amazon’s designated list while membership is active. Amazon says the list can change and does not guarantee the availability of a particular title. When membership ends, selected borrowed titles are removed. These terms apply to borrowing through Kindle Unlimited, not comics purchased separately from Amazon.
Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited help material includes comics and manga among the genres and says the service works on Kindle devices and through the free Kindle app on smartphones, computers, and tablets. This establishes supported reading routes, not a guarantee that every comic is available in every country or at all times.

Are downloads permanent or portable?
The key distinction is between an offline copy managed by an app and a file you can keep. An app may let you read without a connection but still treat the download as temporary service content. A DRM-free file is a different product.
Temporary app downloads
Marvel describes its offline downloads as temporary. GlobalComix also distinguishes offline reading of a Collection Unlock from its downloadable PDF product: a GlobalComix Gold membership is required to download Collection Unlocks for offline reading, and that access remains a licensed reading feature.

DRM-free PDF downloads
GlobalComix says: “Collection Unlocks grant a license to read, while PDF downloads are DRM-free and grant access to a downloadable PDF that you own permanently.” This is GlobalComix’s description of its product, not a general legal ruling about copyright or rights to transfer a comic. If keeping a file matters, verify that the item is specifically sold as a PDF download rather than an unlock or in-app offline option.
Libraries across storefronts
Buying through one storefront does not necessarily add a title to another platform’s library. DC says Comixology and DC UNIVERSE INFINITE are separate services: Comixology purchases do not appear in a DC UNIVERSE INFINITE account, though they remain accessible where purchased.

How refunds work by platform
Marvel Unlimited
Marvel’s agreement says subscription payments are nonrefundable and provides no refunds or credits for partly used billing periods. It reserves discretion to issue a refund or other consideration, so an exception is possible but not guaranteed by the general policy.
DC UNIVERSE INFINITE
DC’s Terms of Use say purchases are final and refunds are unavailable unless applicable additional terms say otherwise. Check the terms attached to the product and the checkout channel before buying.
GlobalComix
For a website purchase, GlobalComix directs refund requests to its contact form. For an in-app purchase, it directs users to the Apple App Store or Google Play refund process. The FAQ warns that a request may be denied if the reader has gone beyond the free preview or has already received a refund before.
Kindle Unlimited
Amazon says membership fees are nonrefundable except where its terms expressly provide otherwise. Cancelling stops future renewal; it does not return fees already paid.

VIZ
VIZ says digital product purchases are final and nonrefundable. It identifies an exception for residents of the EU, UK, and other jurisdictions with a statutory cooling-off period: a refund may be available within that period if the customer has not logged in, accessed, downloaded, streamed, or begun consuming the digital content. This is a location- and non-consumption-dependent exception, not a worldwide refund guarantee.
Quick Recap
What to check before buying
- Identify the product type: subscription access, an individual account-based purchase, a Collection Unlock, or a downloadable PDF are not interchangeable.
- Check what cancellation means: subscription libraries can end when membership ends, while individual purchases may remain accessible only through the original account or service.
- Read the download description: “offline” can mean temporary in-app access; look for explicit DRM-free file wording if you need a file.
- Confirm the storefront: libraries may not transfer between services, even when the comics are from the same publisher.
- Review the refund route and eligibility: rules may depend on whether you bought on a website or in an app, whether you consumed the content, and where you live.
- Check catalog and territory limits: Kindle Unlimited’s list can change; GlobalComix says some titles rotate or are delayed and licensing can make Collection Unlocks unavailable in certain countries.
