NVIDIA Reflex is a game-integrated technology suite designed to reduce PC system latency—the delay between a player’s input and the game’s response. Its Reflex Low Latency feature works inside supported games to coordinate CPU and GPU rendering; Reflex Analyzer is a separate feature that measures click-to-display latency with compatible hardware. You do not need a Reflex mouse or monitor to use Reflex Low Latency.
What NVIDIA Reflex does
Reflex is not a standalone peripheral or a setting that applies to every PC game. It is a set of technologies that game developers integrate, with Reflex Low Latency available in supported titles. NVIDIA describes its purpose as reducing the time between an input and the corresponding result on screen.
In games without Reflex integration, NVIDIA has described its Control Panel Ultra Low Latency mode as a possible partial-improvement fallback. That is not the same as game-integrated Reflex, and the available settings vary by game and driver. NVIDIA’s original explanation of that distinction dates to 2020, so check the game’s current options and NVIDIA’s current guidance rather than assuming a particular setting is appropriate: NVIDIA’s Reflex announcement.
How Reflex Low Latency works
A game can prepare frames faster than the GPU displays them. If frames wait in a queue, that work can add delay: an input may arrive while the system is still processing frames prepared before the input. Reflex Low Latency synchronizes the CPU and GPU pipelines so the game can submit frames just in time, with the aim of avoiding a long render queue. NVIDIA’s technical overview describes this as “synchronizes CPU and GPU pipelines for just-in-time rendering”: NVIDIA Reflex SDK overview.

NVIDIA also describes Reflex Frame Warp, which samples a recent mouse position and updates a rendered frame just before scanout. NVIDIA’s feature page labels Frame Warp “coming soon”; availability may change, so that description should not be read as a generally available feature: NVIDIA Reflex technology page.
Reflex Low Latency and Reflex Analyzer are different
| Feature | What it does | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Reflex Low Latency | Reduces PC system latency in a game that supports Reflex integration. | A supported game. A Reflex-compatible mouse or monitor is not required. |
| Reflex Analyzer | Measures the time from a mouse click to the resulting visible change on the display. | A compatible display with Reflex Analyzer and a compatible mouse. Full click-to-game-to-display measurement also requires a Reflex game. |
NVIDIA describes Reflex Analyzer as detecting a mouse click and timing the resulting pixel change on screen. Its 2024 explanation of full click-to-game-to-display measurement specifies a Reflex game, compatible monitor, and compatible mouse: NVIDIA’s Reflex Analyzer explanation. This hardware is for measurement; it is not a prerequisite for turning on Reflex Low Latency in a supported game.

How to check whether a game supports Reflex
- Check NVIDIA’s current supported-products listing. Search for the game on NVIDIA’s Reflex supported-products page. Support can change as games add integrations.
- Look in the game’s settings. If the title supports Reflex, its graphics, video, or latency settings may include a Reflex option. The exact label and available modes depend on the game.
- Enable the in-game option if you want to try latency reduction. You do not need to buy Analyzer-compatible hardware for this. If the game has no Reflex option, do not assume that a Control Panel setting is identical; consult current instructions for that title and driver.
NVIDIA’s original Reflex SDK announcement said support extended to GeForce GTX 900-series graphics cards and later, so Reflex should not be treated as requiring a newly purchased GPU. That announcement is historical; check current game and product requirements for a specific setup: NVIDIA’s launch announcement.
Does NVIDIA Reflex improve FPS?
Reflex is intended to reduce latency, not to promise a higher frame rate. It changes how CPU and GPU work is coordinated; the practical effect depends on the game and system. Lower latency and higher FPS are different outcomes, and NVIDIA’s published latency reductions should not be interpreted as a guaranteed FPS increase or a guaranteed result on an individual PC.

What NVIDIA’s published latency figures mean
NVIDIA has published latency figures for particular games and time periods. They are vendor-reported claims with specific scope, not a universal expectation for every player, configuration, or game.
- In a June 12, 2025 article, NVIDIA reported Reflex support in more than 150 games and cited latency reductions of up to 43% in then-current seasons of Fortnite and Marvel Rivals. “Up to” describes a stated maximum for those examples, not a typical or guaranteed result: NVIDIA’s June 2025 announcement.
- In 2022, NVIDIA reported an average 20% reduction in end-to-end system latency across games supported at that time. The average is NVIDIA’s dated, vendor-reported figure, not a promise for a current title or an individual PC: NVIDIA’s Reflex latency overview.
- In a January 17, 2024 article, NVIDIA said more than 90% of GeForce gamers had enabled Reflex. This is a vendor-reported adoption figure, not an independent measurement of latency or performance: NVIDIA’s 2024 Reflex article.
Should you turn Reflex on?
If a game you play offers Reflex Low Latency, enabling it is a straightforward way to try the game-integrated latency feature. Its value is most relevant when responsive input matters to you, but the benefit is not fixed: it varies with the game and your system. Reflex cannot guarantee better aim, wins, or a specific reduction in delay.
