Activision Publishing won a default judgment against EngineOwning and associated defendants that Bloomberg Law reported as providing more than $14 million in damages, plus attorney fees, and ordering the transfer of the EngineOwning.to domain to Activision. The headline figure of $15 million is rounded shorthand, not a verified itemized total. The available reporting confirms an order to transfer the domain, not that the transfer was completed.
What Activision won
Bloomberg Law reported in 2024 that the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California entered a default judgment in Activision Publishing, Inc. v. EngineOwning UG et al., case No. 2:22-cv-00051. The reported remedies were more than $14 million in damages, attorney fees, and an order transferring EngineOwning.to to Activision. The supplied $15 million headline rounds that reported award; the exact damages and fee breakdown cannot be established from the available report alone. Bloomberg Law’s 2024 report.
A default judgment is distinct from the individual consent judgments entered earlier in the same case. The later award should not be presented as a settlement amount paid by the two individuals named in those earlier orders.
Why Activision sued EngineOwning
The case concerned EngineOwning and software used to cheat in Activision Blizzard games. It is separate from the Microsoft/Activision antitrust litigation. The Department of Justice final judgment sometimes returned in searches about Activision concerns a different antitrust matter and is not evidence about the EngineOwning dispute.

Earlier individual judgments were separate orders
| Defendant | Order and amount | What the order addressed |
|---|---|---|
| Manuel Santiago | $1 million judgment in a 2023 Central District of California consent judgment, payable under a confidential settlement agreement. | Permanent restrictions on specified development, distribution, support, advertising, and promotion of cheating and spoofing software; the order also included source-code and social-account provisions. 2023 consent judgment and permanent injunction, Document 86. |
| Ignacio Gayduchenko | $2 million judgment in a separate 2023 consent judgment, payable under settlement terms. | Restrictions on dealing with EngineOwning software and other cheating software. 2023 consent judgment and permanent injunction, Document 87. |
Those amounts and obligations belong to the individual consent orders. They are not components that should be added to or substituted for the later default judgment against the remaining defendants.

The reported judgment ordered the domain transferred to Activision. That establishes what the court ordered, not whether the transfer was carried out or who currently controls the domain. The available reporting does not confirm completion, so it would be inaccurate to say Activision has already taken control or that the entire EngineOwning business was transferred.

What the $15 million figure does—and does not—mean
- It is rounded headline language for an outcome Bloomberg Law described as more than $14 million in damages, plus attorney fees.
- The precise damages and fee amounts are not itemized here because the operative default-judgment order is not established by the available report.
- It is not the combined total of the separate $1 million Santiago and $2 million Gayduchenko consent judgments.
- It does not establish that the domain transfer was completed.
