English Origins launched on October 31, 2025; the later Radiance set is scheduled to launch in English, Chinese, and French on October 23, 2026.
The available official materials establish those products, prices, and dates, but do not verify what was announced at the “pre-release summit” named in the original title. The details below are attributed to Riot’s product materials, announcements, and roadmap instead.
What is Riftbound?
Riftbound is a physical trading-card game based on League of Legends. Its Origins debut set was described in Riot and UVS Games’ official sell sheet as drawing from a pool of nearly 300 cards. The launch lineup covered several ways to start: open booster packs, choose a champion deck, or learn with the multiplayer Proving Grounds box.

Which product should a new player choose?
Choose Proving Grounds for guided multiplayer play
Proving Grounds is the clearest fit for a group that wants prebuilt decks and guided play in a single 2–4-player box. Its sell-sheet MSRP and later store display price differ, so check the retailer’s current listing before buying.
Choose a champion deck for a prebuilt deck
A champion deck offers a single prebuilt-deck purchase. Riot’s sell sheet lists $19.99 per deck; it also lists a four-deck display at $79.96.

Choose boosters to open cards
The Origins sleeved booster is the pack option: the sell sheet specifies 14 cards and a $4.99 listed price. A booster is not the same thing as a guided starter experience.
When did Riftbound release, and what is next?
Riot’s English-language purchase announcement set the Origins release for October 31, 2025. That announcement also said local game stores would host launch events, where participants could play and receive a promo booster pack. Riot called local game stores the best place to buy Riftbound in English and said limited preorders through the Riot Merch Store were also planned. For the next dated release in the official materials, Riot’s August 2026 roadmap lists Radiance launching October 23, 2026, in English, Chinese, and French. The roadmap schedules Pre-Rift events for October 16–22, 2026, ahead of launch. These Radiance dates should not be confused with the earlier English-language Origins launch.
How does Riftbound organized play work?
Local store events
Local game stores are Riot’s stated destination for English-language purchases and hosted Origins launch events. Store events offer a local way to play; check with a participating store for its current event, entry, and product details.

Pre-Rift events
Riot’s August 2026 roadmap places Pre-Rift events on October 16–22, 2026, before Radiance’s October 23 launch. The roadmap also lists 2026 regional and community events and release plans for early 2027.
Premier Play and event updates
Riot’s news index points to a September 2026 organized-play update announcing early 2027 Premier Play event locations and dates. Consult the Riftbound news index and official event listings for current venues, registration, and schedules, which may change.

What did Riot say about product availability?
In its purchase announcement, Riot Games said: “Accessibility to the long term health of the game environment is very important to us, and we’ll be working towards increasing supply to ensure that players have reasonable access to the product.” This is Riot’s stated intention; it does not establish current availability at any particular retailer.
