Her account is a preview, not a review of the finished game.
What the hands-on preview covered
Lewis tried returning sports including Table Tennis, Archery, and Boxing, as well as Thumb Wrestling, which the preview identifies as new. The activities offer different kinds of play: Table Tennis and Thumb Wrestling are presented as direct, head-to-head contests, while the island activities lean toward exploring rather than competing.

The competitive setup is part of what gives the headline its first-person energy. Lewis describes wanting to take on friends online, but the preview does not spell out the online modes, technical requirements, or whether a subscription is needed. GamesRadar+’s October 6 hands-on preview, syndicated by Yahoo Tech, is the source for these impressions.
Wuhu Island is for exploring as well as playing
Skateboarding, Power Cruising, and Prop Plane tours provide a different pace from the short competitive sports. They take place around an expanded Wuhu Island, whose return gives the game a clear connection to Wii Sports Resort. Lewis particularly enjoyed flying around the island and into its volcano cave system.

That nostalgia is her reaction, not a promise that every returning player will feel the same way. She connects Prop Plane sightseeing with Wii Sports Resort’s Island Flyover, while describing the expanded island and larger cave system as new places to explore. Her response captures the mix of familiarity and novelty: “I genuinely can’t wait to explore more of what the setting I fell in love with 17 years ago has to offer.”
How the controls differ by activity
The preview describes Joy-Con 2 motion controls across sports and sightseeing activities, but the gestures vary with the task. Lewis calls the motion controls responsive; that is her hands-on impression, not a measured performance result.
