What it is

And Yet It Moves is a puzzle-platformer from Broken Rules, released in 2009. Set in a world made of ripped paper, it asks players to jump, run and rotate the environment in 90-degree turns. The changing orientation affects the physics, forming the basis of its platforming puzzles. The full version includes 17 levels across three environments. A Speed Run mode lets players race the clock or compete against recorded Ghost Runs, with marathon runs across an environment. Players can submit recorded runs and times to online high scores, and download other users’ Ghosts to compare routes. Steam lists single-player, achievements, custom volume controls, a keyboard-only option, play without timed input and stereo sound. Controller support is partial. The platforms listed include Windows, Linux, Wii and macOS; Steam lists Windows, macOS and Linux.

Who it suits

It suits players who enjoy platform puzzles based on changing a level’s orientation. The Speed Run mode and recorded Ghost Runs also suit players interested in competing over times and routes.

World rotation is central to both the platforming and puzzles, while the recorded runs add a time-trial option. Players should note that Steam lists only partial controller support.
