What it is
Anomaly Defenders is a tower defense strategy game from 11 Bit Studios, released in 2014. It reverses the conflict of the earlier Anomaly games: humans are attacking the alien homeworld, and players defend it. Human troops can damage and destroy defenses, so players must respond to pressure on the battlefield. The game offers eight upgradeable towers, along with functions to repair them, boost their behavior or sacrifice them in explosions. A technology tree lets players shape strategies for each campaign, while tower placement can redirect enemy movement. The campaign has 24 levels across orbital stations and other locations, with three difficulty settings. Anomaly Defenders is a single-player game available for Windows, macOS and Linux. Its Steam features include achievements, trading cards, cloud saves, leaderboards and Family Sharing. 11 bit studios is listed as publisher.

Who it suits
It suits solo players who enjoy tower defense built around adjusting defenses as enemies attack. The upgradeable towers, technology tree and three difficulty settings offer different approaches and challenges.
Anomaly Defenders puts defense under pressure, since attacking troops can damage and destroy towers. Its tower abilities, technology tree and path-shaping tactics give players several ways to respond.
