What it is
Artifact is a collectible card strategy game from Valve, built around combat across three lanes in the Dota 2 setting. It now includes two versions: Artifact Classic, the original game, and Artifact Foundry, which reshapes the play around all three lanes being visible together and one mana pool shared between them. Foundry also reduces the effect of randomness and adds more than 100 cards, including over 20 heroes, plus an expanded tutorial, hero-specific demo scenarios, a beginner campaign, standalone challenges, and Hero Draft PvP. Classic retains its three-lane card battles, large hands and unit counts, and flexible mana use. The game is free to play, and cards in both versions are available through play rather than pack purchases; all Classic cards are available to players. It supports single-player and online PvP, with Steam Cloud, and is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Valve released Artifact in 2018.
