What it is

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is a 2008 2D fighting game from Arc System Works. Matches place two characters in a duel, with rounds called rebels and matches lasting one to five rebels. A round ends when one fighter reduces the other’s health to zero or has more health when time expires. Every character has weak, medium, and strong attacks, plus a distinct Drive attack. The game offers 12 characters, including Taokaka and Tager, whose Drive techniques can control elements such as wind and ice or absorb an opponent’s life force. Hand-drawn sprites appear in high resolution over 3D backgrounds. Modes include Arcade, Versus, Score Attack, Training, Gallery, and a story mode. Its story follows conflict around the Library, a powerful council associated with humanity’s salvation and repression. Steam features include single-player, multiplayer, shared or split screen, full controller support, Steam Trading Cards, Remote Play on TV, Remote Play Together, and Family Sharing. The Steam release launched for Windows on February 13, 2014.
