What it is

Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is an expansion to Civilization VI, developed by Firaxis Games and released in 2018. It adds systems that shape how civilizations fare across the ages: Golden Ages, Dark Ages and the possibility of a Heroic Age after recovery. Loyalty can help keep cities within an empire or draw them away from rival powers, while Free Cities can emerge as borders shift. The expansion also adds Governors, each with a promotion tree, to let players specialise cities and respond to changing conditions. Its listed additions include eight civilizations, nine leaders and eight world wonders, alongside new units, districts and buildings. Diplomacy and Government systems are also expanded. Steam lists single-player and multiplayer, including online, LAN and shared/split-screen PvP, as well as cross-platform multiplayer and downloadable content. Platforms listed are Windows, macOS and Linux; 2K, Aspyr (Mac) and Aspyr (Linux) are the publishers.
