What it is

Crystal Caves is a platformer from Apogee Software in which Mylo searches an underground world for treasure and crystals. His trip to the Altairian star system takes him into chambers filled with alien technology, traps, creatures and robots protecting valuable crystals. The saga has three episodes: The Trouble with Twibbles, Slugging it Out, and Mylo Verses the Supernova, each with its own story twist and graphics. Cave hazards include lightless areas, falling hammers, alien bats that drop eggs, slither eyes and spiders that shoot webs. Low-gravity levels can also make the recoil from Mylo's laser pistol send him toward other dangers. The game first released in 1991 and is listed for macOS, Windows, DOS and Classic Mac OS. Apogee Entertainment's Steam release arrived on May 5, 2014, for Windows and macOS. It supports single-player, Family Sharing and partial Xbox 360 controller support; the Steam features list also describes controller support as partial.
