What it is
Double Dragon IV is a side-scrolling beat ’em up from Arc System Works, released for Windows in 2017. Its story follows the defeat of the Black Warriors in Double Dragon II: Marian has been kidnapped, and the Lee brothers use Sou-Setsu-Ken to rescue her. The game keeps the series’ old-school graphics and adds new enemy types, including ninjas, karate masters and sumo wrestlers. Playable enemy characters and extra modes broaden the action, including VS Mode and Tower Mode. It supports single-player as well as multiplayer and PvP, with shared or split-screen options. Steam features include achievements, partial controller support, Remote Play Together and Family Sharing. Players can take on the game alone or share local matches and co-op play, while the VS mode offers a competitive option. Arc System Works is both developer and publisher.
