What it is

Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play construction and management simulation from Bethesda Game Studios, released for Windows. You oversee an underground Vault: build rooms, assign Dwellers to suitable jobs, and provide them with outfits, weapons and training. A Radio Room can attract new residents, while crafting turns junk into useful items and the Barbershop lets you change a Dweller’s appearance. You can also send Dwellers out to explore the Wasteland, where they may find loot, equipment and experience, but face danger. Keeping the community safe is part of the job, since threats can come from outside the Vault or from within. The Steam version is single-player and includes achievements, full controller support, cloud saves and family sharing. It also has in-app purchases and can be played without timed input. Steam lists RPG, simulation and free-to-play among its genres.
