What it is
Flinthook is a fast action-platformer with roguelike elements, developed and published by Tribute Games. You play as space captain Flinthook, using a hookshot to swing between golden rings, a pistol to fire in any direction, and slow-motion powers to adjust your aim or handle tight moves. The adventure takes place aboard randomly assembled pirate spaceships, built from hand-crafted rooms with changing variants, treasure and enemy waves. Players can hunt pirate rivals and bosses while seeking loot and relics. Released on April 18, 2017, Flinthook is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. Steam lists it under action, adventure and indie, and includes single-player, achievements, controller support, Trading Cards, Cloud, Leaderboards, Remote Play on TV and Family Sharing. Its Metacritic score is 80. The combination of traversal, shooting and altered time gives the platforming its central rhythm.
