What it is
Icarus is a PvE survival game from RocketWerkz, with mission-based and persistent Open World modes for up to eight co-op players. Players drop from an orbital station onto a terraformed planet to explore, harvest, craft and hunt while seeking fortune. Its wilderness presents dangers including toxic atmosphere, predators, storms and forest fires, so preparation and supplies are central to expeditions. The game can be played solo, with up to eight Steam friends, or on dedicated servers; dedicated servers are free to run and recommended for Open World sessions. Players can tame mounts and companions, breed animals, and establish farms. Progression includes planetary technology, player talents and an orbital workshop, with four technology tiers from hand-crafted to advanced composites and electronics. Icarus is listed for Windows on Steam and also for Xbox Series X and Series S. Steam features include single-player, multiplayer, co-op, online co-op, achievements, trading cards, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing.
