What it is
March of Empires is a free-to-play medieval strategy game built around strengthening a kingdom and competing for territory. You can construct buildings, fortify a castle, raise armies, clash with barbarians, and conquer lands. Players choose among four ruler identities: Shogun, Highland King, Northern Tsar, or Desert Sultan. Army advantages support different approaches, while Champions can lead forces and gain boosted skills from equipment you find and craft. Heroes and adventurers can also be sent on quests for treasure. The game describes a contest to become High King, with powers and bonuses unlocked as territory is taken. Steam lists multiplayer and online PvP, Steam Achievements, in-app purchases, and Family Sharing. Developed and published by Gameloft, March of Empires released on Windows on December 11, 2017.
