What it is
Medieval: Total War is a strategy game from Creative Assembly, set across four centuries of medieval conflict. The Collection Edition combines the original game with its official Viking Invasion expansion. Players build a dynastic empire, recruit armies, besiege settlements and fight naval battles while seeking to expand their influence. Diplomacy and covert action are also part of the campaign: emissaries, spies and assassins can pursue alliances, bribes or clandestine aims. The game features 14 playable factions from Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with battles that can show up to 10,000 soldiers. Its siege systems center on the castles that shaped the period, while characters’ valour, vice and virtues affect how others treat them and the troops they lead. Viking Invasion adds an extended map covering the British Isles and western Scandinavia, with its setting spanning 793 to 1066. The game is available for Windows and supports single-player and multiplayer.
