Nobunaga's Ambition: Ranseiki

By Koei Tecmo Games, released 1 Jan 2001

  • Microsoft Windows

What it is

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Ranseiki with Power Up Kit is an expanded version of the ninth game in Koei Tecmo Games’ Nobunaga’s Ambition series. It is a strategy simulation set in Japan’s Warring States period, where players take the role of a powerful daimyo and pursue the unification of the country. Battles shift from the series’ turn-based approach to real time. The game also brings seven non-daimyo forces into the setting: the Imperial Court, temples and shrines, the navy, independent cities, ninja groups, landowners and the Bakufu. Its graphics draw on the beauty of the Azuchi Momoyama period. The Steam listing includes single-player, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. The game is listed for Windows. The Power Up Kit edition is described as an enhanced version of Ranseiki, which was released in 2001 as the series’ ninth entry. This release offers a campaign of political and military conflict focused on competing forces in the period.
