What it is
Shadowgate is a fantasy adventure from ICOM Simulations, presented here as the original MacVenture Series game. The story casts the player as the last heir of an ancient royal line, tasked with stopping the Warlock Lord from raising the titan Behemoth and threatening the land. This release includes restored Macintosh and Apple IIgs versions of the original game. Its first-person adventure spans more than 50 rooms and uses a drag-and-drop object system, with puzzles to solve along the way. Players can move and resize the interface, expand the retro graphics to full screen and save progress at any time with as many save points as they want. The Steam listing includes single-player and Family Sharing. Shadowgate was first released in 1987; this MacVenture Series release arrived on January 26, 2015, for Windows and macOS.
