What it is
The Summoning is a fantasy role-playing adventure by DreamForge Intertainment, set across 40 levels of a labyrinthine stronghold. Released in 1992, it puts a single character against the Shadow Weaver and his monsters, using weapons, magic and puzzle-solving to survive and grow strong enough to face him. Its maze, castle, secret passage and dungeon environments hold clues to uncover, puzzles to solve and many non-player characters to meet and talk with. The adventure also includes travel to alternate dimensions, a complex plot with twists and multiple endings. The Steam version lists single-player, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing, and is available for Windows. The game was also released for DOS. Its Steam release date is June 6, 2023.
