What it is
Truxton is a vertically scrolling science-fiction shooter developed by Sting. Players pilot the Super Fighter against the Gidans, taking on alien forces and asteroid bases across large stages. Its weapon selection includes the Truxton Beam, Power Shot and Thunder Laser, and each weapon type can be upgraded repeatedly. The updated PC release adds online leaderboards, quick saves, rewind and replay capture alongside arcade-focused emulation and a beginner mode. Leaderboards are listed for Single Credit, No Assist and Assisted play. Instrument panels provide extra gameplay information and artwork. Steam lists a single-player mode, achievements, full controller support, gamepad recommendation, DualShock and DualSense support, Steam Input API support and Steam Cloud. The current Steam platform listings are Windows, macOS and Linux; the wider platform list also includes Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx-16 and arcade.
