What it is
Venus The Flytrap is a side-scrolling action game originally released in 1990 and later presented as an emulated version of the Commodore Amiga game. You control a robotic fly fighting mutant cybernetic insects after an attempt to restore ecological balance goes wrong. The game spans 10 worlds, each with five platforming levels, plus bonus side-scrolling shooting stages. Defeated enemies can provide powerups such as extra speed, another life, or weapons, and 20 secret rooms are hidden throughout the worlds. This version adds save and load at any point, support for most modern controllers, control remapping, and image scaling and smoothing options. Steam lists single-player, partial controller support, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing. The listed Steam platform is Windows; the broader platform information also names Atari ST. Pixel Games UK is the publisher, and Gremlin Interactive is the developer.
