What it is
Worms is Team17’s 1995 turn-based strategy and artillery game, built around teams of worms fighting across changing battlefields. Up to four teams compete while weapon crates fall and unusual weapons, including exploding sheep, alter each match. The objective is to eliminate opposing teams and remain last standing. Players can configure many options to adjust how games work, making short sessions or longer weekend games possible. Worms includes a single-player campaign that introduces its weapons and utilities, alongside multiplayer, player-versus-player, shared or split-screen PvP, and Remote Play Together. Family Sharing is also listed. The Steam release runs on Windows and is dated October 19, 2011. Earlier platform listings include Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, DOS, Game Boy Color, and Atari Jaguar.
