What it is
Zanki Zero is a single-player RPG from Spike Chunsoft for Windows, set in a world where modern civilization has been reduced to ruins amid a sea. The story follows eight protagonists, each seen from their own point of view as they explore islands, towers and dungeons and investigate the sins of their past. Survival involves gathering food and materials while fighting monsters in real-time encounters. Each life cycle lasts 13 days, and a clone’s stats and abilities change as it ages from youth to old age. Death can also grant bonus upgrades for a later cycle, making each life another chance to progress. The game’s survival systems include a need to use the bathroom, which can become fatal for the party if ignored. Steam lists achievements, trading cards, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing and partial controller support. Zanki Zero was released on Windows on April 9, 2019.
