What it is

EZ Seed Finder is a free, open-source GUI and command-line tool for finding Minecraft Java Edition seeds. It uses cubiomes through a vendored cubiomespi-fork build for structure and biome generation. Its .ezsf criteria language supports random or sequential scans, seed ranges, thread counts, result limits, and searches spanning the Overworld, Nether, and End. Criteria cover structures, biomes, spawn conditions, strongholds, bastion variants, structure distances, terrain, mobs, and version-aware chest loot. Results appear in a table, and double-clicking a result copies its seed. Headless searches are available through the ezsf command-line interface. Linux, macOS, and Windows are listed, with Python 3.11 or later required and tkinter needed for the GUI. Windows installation may require Microsoft C++ Build Tools for the native library. Full-stronghold checks use a ring-1 proximity heuristic, while terrain and height checks use experimental biome-based proxies rather than true surface noise. The project uses the MIT license.

Good, and not so good

  • Combines Overworld, Nether, and End criteria
  • Supports structure and biome searches
  • Includes chest-loot and bastion filters
  • GUI and headless command-line modes
  • Runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Requires Python 3.11 or later
  • GUI requires tkinter
  • Windows may require C++ Build Tools
  • Some terrain checks are experimental

Who it suits

EZ Seed Finder suits Minecraft Java players who need detailed seed searches from a GUI or command line. It fits users comfortable with Python installation and the documented accuracy limits.

EZ Seed Finder offers detailed, programmable seed criteria with both graphical and headless workflows. Its stronghold and terrain results have explicit approximation limits to consider.
