VGSources / Best Game Save Editors / Gothic 1 Remake Savegame Editor
What it is
Gothic 1 Remake Savegame Editor is a free community tool for editing Gothic 1 Remake saves in a browser and downloading a ready-to-load save. It can change character stats and skills for weapons, thievery, magic, hunting, crafting, and movement. Inventory controls allow changing item amounts and adding items, while quest controls change objective states. Other exposed save data includes NPC profiles, locations and inventories, passages, glossary entries, behaviour, and crimes. The maker documents Steam Cloud guidance and a REST-style API with load, patch, and health endpoints. Generated saves are checked for structural validity before download, and invalid edits are refused. The live site says saves stay on the user's machine and are processed by a local container; repository information describes hosted processing that holds saves in memory, expires sessions after five minutes, and does not write files to disk or share them. A private instance can be run with Docker, Docker Compose, or GitHub Codespaces. Learning skills and adding items are experimental, and NPC attitude editing is listed as coming later. The project is not affiliated with Alkimia Interactive or THQ Nordic.
Good, and not so good

- Rejects structurally invalid edits
- Documents Steam Cloud guidance and an API
- Offers private-instance setup options
- Learning skill edits are experimental
- Adding items is experimental
- NPC attitude editing is not yet available
Who it suits
It suits Gothic 1 Remake players who want to alter character progression, inventory, quests, or other save data through a browser. Users seeking a private setup can use the documented Docker, Docker Compose, or Codespaces options.
The editor exposes a broad range of save data and validates generated files before download. Note the experimental status of learning skills and item additions, and distinguish the live site's local-processing description from the repository's hosted-processing description.
