VGSources / Best Game Save Editors / RepoDitor
What it is
RepoDitor is a free, open-source Electron editor for local R.E.P.O. encrypted .es3 save data. It runs separately from the game and does not require BepInEx, another mod loader, or installation in the game directory. Desktop workspaces handle run overviews, player health, upgrades, supported run values, items, maps, and cosmetics. Item editing is limited to eligible exact-instance refill-to-full actions, while maps are discovery-only. Before writing a save, the app checks the source fingerprint, confirms the game is closed, creates a timestamped backup, validates staged encrypted output, and replaces the source atomically. Parsing, validation, and editing stay local. The sandboxed renderer cannot read arbitrary files, spawn processes, decrypt saves, invoke arbitrary IPC, or receive raw decrypted save JSON. The desktop app requires Windows x64 with a local R.E.P.O. installation and save. A browser version supports manual import and export with fewer capabilities. GitHub Releases is the canonical desktop download source, alongside Nexus Mods and Thunderstore. Updates are manual, and the project uses the MIT License.

Who it suits
It suits R.E.P.O. players who need local save inspection or supported progression, inventory, stat, and cosmetic edits. Windows users get the full desktop feature set, while browser users have a narrower workflow.
RepoDitor focuses on controlled editing of R.E.P.O. encrypted saves with multiple validation and backup checks. Its strict editing limits and Windows desktop requirement define where it fits.
