What it is
Secrets of Grindea Savegame Editor is a free tool for inspecting and editing character saves for Secrets of Grindea. It can change a character’s nickname, skill points, gold, equipment, inventory and pets. Users can open a save through the executable’s file dialog, drag a save onto the executable, or pass its path on the command line. The command line can print a save as JSON or show a short text summary; the project gives jq as an example for extracting a value such as character level. The README says saves belong in %APPDATA%\Secrets of Grindea\Characters and should be named 0.cha through 8.cha. Release v0.9.0 supports game version 1.10f, while earlier versions are not supported by that release; users with older saves are directed to v0.8.2. Currently equipped items are read-only in v0.9.0. The project supports Windows and Linux command-line use and identifies its license as MIT. The maker also describes SoG Character Editor as a stripped-down alternative for changing only a save’s name and gender.
