What it is
Zephyr is a free, open-source desktop mod manager for browsing, installing, and switching game mod profiles. It supports about 200 games out of the box and combines Thunderstore and CurseForge browsing in one search. The app runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, deploying mods by copying them. Profile codes or links let friends reproduce a setup. Optional cloud sync requires Discord sign-in and enabling the feature. Zephyr includes an Archipelago multiworld randomizer with Python bundled, a BepInEx configuration editor, and gamepad navigation. Customization offers seven themes, custom fonts and colors, and seven languages. The GPL-3.0 application can also receive publisher submissions to its registry, where CI verifies SHA-256 checks. Without sign-in, the maker says personal data stays on the device and metadata requests are anonymous. Cloud-enabled profile archives and metadata are stored with the maker’s provider in France. Windows builds are not code-signed and macOS builds are not notarized.
