In short
Refract: Choose Refract when your Minecraft group needs isolated modpack setups across Windows, macOS, or Linux without paying for the launcher. Modpack imports work with Modrinth, CurseForge, and FTB, while worlds remain preserved through updates. Java runtime controls, dependency installation, and per-instance settings cover the practical setup work. The software uses GPL v3.0 licensing and is developed in public, with support and contributions centered on Discord, GitHub, and community discussions. Its fit is narrower if you need another platform or prefer a different licensing model.
