In short
Minepanel: Minepanel makes sense for a Minecraft host who wants Java and Bedrock under one self-managed dashboard and is comfortable operating Docker. It offers broad server software coverage, useful diagnostics, detailed monitoring, role-based access and several notification and storage choices. The main reservation is recovery: backups exist, but restoring one is not a one-click task. Hardware limits also determine how many servers you can run. Choose it when control and a free MIT-licensed tool matter more than managed hosting or hands-off maintenance.
Zomboid Control Panel: Choose Zomboid Control Panel when your group wants a free way to operate its own Project Zomboid server and is comfortable managing a self-hosted web app. It gives an administrator a broad set of controls, from Workshop collections and conflict checks to scheduled backups and map-based player actions. The optional bridge extends that control further. Avoid it when you expect a provider to deploy the panel, manage game updates or control a rented server's lifecycle, or when your remote host cannot provide SFTP for bridge file sync.
