神秘宝可梦和传说宝可梦有什么区别？
两者相关，但不是同义分类。自第五世代以来，官方媒体将神秘宝可梦和传说宝可梦分别呈现。神秘宝可梦过去通常通过特别活动分发，不过并非每一种在每款游戏里都只能靠限时活动取得；有些后来能通过正常游戏流程，或长期有效的分发方式获得。

官方《宝可梦传说 阿尔宙斯》页面便将达克莱伊、谢米（陆上形态）和阿尔宙斯列在“Mythical Pokémon”栏目中。这个例子能确认分类，但不能据此推断三者在其他作品里的获取方式相同：Pokémon Legends: Arceus — Pokémon。
为什么无法给这23种排出统一稀有度名次？
“稀有”必须对应具体游戏和条件。一个物种可能在某款游戏中通过剧情取得，在另一款游戏中却依赖活动；活动结束后，合法获取渠道也可能不同。讨论谁最难获得时，至少需要说明以下比较条件：

- 游戏与版本：主系列游戏、Pokémon GO及其他衍生作品的规则并不相同。
- 获取渠道：剧情、常规流程、活动分发、团体战、孵蛋和转入服务代表不同门槛。
- 时间：限时活动开放时与活动结束后，获得难度可能不同。
- 地区与版本限制：有些出现方式限定地区或版本，也可能在特定活动中暂时放宽。
- 形态：稀少的可能是某一种形态，而不一定是整个物种。
目前没有可跨全部游戏比较的遭遇概率或拥有率数据来支持这23种的统一排名。因此，“最稀有”不能直接等同于“最难捕捉”“最强”或“市场价格最高”。
活动会怎样改变实际获取难度？
Pokémon GO：活动内容不是永久刷新规则
Pokémon GO 的官方30周年活动页面分别说明了野外出现、地区限定、团体战、蛋，以及通常不会在野外出现的宝可梦；页面还提到，活动期间使用薰香时，运气很好的玩家可能遇到传说宝可梦。这些是特定活动的安排，不代表游戏长期固定的出现规律。查看当期活动页面时，应确认活动日期、地区和获取渠道：Pokémon GO 30周年活动。

《宝可梦 朱／紫》：限时活动可以打破版本差异
2024年1月26日至28日的一次限时大量出现活动，让通常分别受版本限制的臭鼬噗、溶食兽、垃垃藻和铁臂枪虾都能在两个版本中遇到；活动公告还说明，不同版本中出现稀有标记或不常见标记的倾向有所不同。这是限时活动改变获取条件的实例，不是当前活动信息：《朱／紫》限时大量出现活动公告。
