007 First Light’s free Extended Operations update is version 1.3.0, identified by IO Interactive as the game’s first major free DLC. It adds New Game+, “00” difficulty, Photo Mode and two TacSim activities, alongside weapons, outfits and more than 700 fixes and improvements. New Game+ and “00” difficulty unlock after you complete the campaign; an IOI Account is optional for playing, but linking one by November 1, 2026 unlocks the Grey Standard outfit.
What’s in the free 007 First Light update?
IO Interactive’s Update 1.3.0 patch notes, dated October 1, 2026, call Extended Operations the first major free DLC. The update adds these features and activities:
- New Game+: Replay the campaign with a Suit Loadout and greater flexibility to change gadgets.
- “00” difficulty: A more demanding campaign setting with faster-spotting, harder-hitting enemies and limited gadget-resource restoration.
- Photo Mode: Pause the action to frame shots with camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects and poses.
- Valhalla Protocol: A TacSim activity on an open road in Slovakia, driving the Aston Martin Valhalla equipped with machine guns and missile launchers.
- Jungle Heist: A TacSim activity returning to The Pearl Hotel in Vietnam, where each attempt to retrieve documents can vary.
The patch also adds the Storm 12 Gauge and Squire Marksman Rifle to TacSim. Observant Spy, Leisure Beam and First Class outfits are listed as unlocked by default, and weapon-handling animations have been improved. IO Interactive reports over 700 fixes and improvements, including work on crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI polish.
How do I unlock New Game+ and “00” difficulty?
Complete the entire campaign first. The patch notes specify that a completed playthrough is required for New Game+, and the “00” difficulty also unlocks after campaign completion.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
New Game+ campaign options
In New Game+, use the journal to change outfits and restart from a chosen checkpoint. You can switch gadgets during missions, but only gadgets already unlocked by that point in the story are available.
What changes on “00” difficulty?
Enemies spot you faster and deal more damage, while gadget resources restore only a fraction of their use. It is intended as a tougher replay option rather than a setting available from the start.
