In 007 First Light, New Game+ lets you choose Bond’s outfit during the replay: open the journal, select an unlocked outfit, then restart from the checkpoint you want. First, complete the campaign on any difficulty to unlock New Game+. This outfit freedom applies to the replay, not the initial campaign.
How to unlock New Game+
New Game+ arrived in Update 1.3.0, part of IO Interactive’s free Extended Operations update released October 1, 2026. Complete the campaign on any difficulty to unlock the mode; you do not need to finish it on Hard or 00. IO Interactive’s announcement and the Update 1.3.0 patch notes confirm the requirement.
How to change Bond’s outfit in New Game+
- Start a New Game+ run after completing the campaign.
- Open the journal during the replay and choose an unlocked outfit.
- Restart from the checkpoint you want to play. The patch notes describe outfit changes as taking effect when you restart from a chosen checkpoint.
IO Interactive’s announcement says unlocked outfits carry into the replay. The official Steam announcement describes the choice as replaying “with any outfit you deem to be the most fitting for the occasion.” That flexibility is specific to New Game+; it does not establish free outfit changes during the initial campaign.
What carries over, and what can you change?
Unlocked outfits and gadgets carry into New Game+, according to the developer’s announcement. Gadgets can also be changed during a mission, but the available selection is limited to gadgets already unlocked at that point in the story, as detailed in the patch notes. So the wardrobe can be selected for the replay, while gadget choice still respects story progression.

Do you need to play on 00 difficulty?
No. You can pair outfit and gadget customization with Easy, Normal, or Hard, or choose the optional 00 difficulty. IO describes 00 as a tougher setting with faster enemy reactions, tighter combat, and restrictions on gadget use in guard sightlines. The difficulty changes the challenge, not the New Game+ outfit feature. See IO Interactive’s update announcement for the listed difficulty options.
Why older costume guides may say otherwise
An Epic Games Store costume guide published May 29, 2026 described the campaign’s earlier outfit arrangement, in which Bond’s campaign clothes changed automatically. That predates the October 1 update. Its description should not be read as the current New Game+ rule; the later official notes specifically add journal-based outfit selection for the replay. The older guide also reported nearly 40 costumes at the time, but that is not a current verified total. Read the dated Epic guide.

What else is in Extended Operations?
Outfit selection is only one part of the free update. Extended Operations also adds Photo Mode, TacSim activities, weapons and outfits, and more than 700 fixes and improvements, according to the Update 1.3.0 notes. These additions are separate from the campaign-completion requirement for New Game+.
