007 First Light currently lists a GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5700, an Intel Core i5-9500 or Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB of RAM and an SSD with 80 GB free as its minimum PC specification. The recommended tier moves up to an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT and an i5-13500 or Ryzen 5 7600, while still listing 16 GB of RAM. IO Interactive’s targets are 1080p at 30 fps on Low for minimum and 1080p at 60 fps on Medium for recommended—not 1440p or 4K. Steam’s live listing and IO Interactive’s FAQ are the current references as of August 18, 2026.
007 First Light minimum PC requirements
The current Steam listing gives these minimum specifications. IO Interactive’s FAQ supplies the intended performance target: 1080p, 30 fps, Low preset.

“Minimum” describes the developer’s baseline target, not a promise that every machine with similarly named parts will hold 30 fps in every scene. The published requirements do not specify a below-minimum fallback configuration.

For IO Interactive’s recommended target of 1080p at 60 fps on Medium, Steam currently lists this configuration:

Recommended is a target, not an independent benchmark or guarantee. Actual results can vary with drivers, background applications, settings, game updates and the rest of the system. These specifications do not promise 60 fps at 1440p or 4K, High or Ultra settings, ray tracing, or high-refresh-rate play. No independent performance tests are established by the cited requirements.
1440p, 4K and Ultra targets
IO Interactive’s FAQ separates higher-resolution targets from the basic recommended tier. Its table uses paired GPU examples and includes some malformed text, so the figures below reflect its stated tiers rather than a guarantee that each card delivers identical performance.

The 1440p and 4K figures are distinct from Steam’s recommended 1080p/60 Medium tier. Treat the listed VRAM amounts as IOI’s guidance for those FAQ tiers; VRAM is graphics-card memory and is separate from system RAM.

Why older reports say 32 GB of RAM
IO Interactive’s January 6, 2026 PC-spec announcement listed 16 GB RAM and 8 GB VRAM for minimum, then 32 GB RAM and 12 GB VRAM for recommended. The current Steam listing and current IOI FAQ instead show 16 GB system RAM for both minimum and recommended. The live requirements therefore differ from the original announcement. Use the current Steam requirements and FAQ when checking a PC today; the earlier figures explain why older articles may conflict, but they do not establish that the newer figures will produce identical performance on every system.
IOI’s current higher-resolution tiers do list 32 GB RAM for Ultra. That is a separate 4K/200+ DLSS 4.5 target, not the current recommended 1080p tier.
Is an SSD required?
Yes. Steam and IOI both say an SSD is required. Having 80 GB free on a hard drive does not meet that part of the specification. The 80 GB figure is the listed available-space requirement; leaving extra room for updates and temporary files is prudent. The cited requirements do not say that an NVMe drive is mandatory, so they do not rule out SATA SSDs. An SSD also cannot compensate for a CPU or GPU below the target tier.

Check your PC against the requirements
- Confirm Windows: use Windows 10 or 11 in 64-bit mode.
- Check the exact CPU and GPU: compare the full processor and graphics-card models, not just a brand or product family.
- Check system RAM and VRAM separately: 16 GB system RAM is currently listed at both basic tiers; the FAQ gives separate VRAM guidance for its enthusiast and Ultra tiers.
- Check the install drive: make sure at least 80 GB is free on an SSD, not just somewhere on the PC.
- Choose a realistic target: minimum corresponds to 1080p/30 Low, recommended to 1080p/60 Medium; use the higher-tier guidance for 1440p or 4K.
If your system meets only the minimum, expect the stated Low/30 target rather than assuming a settings change will deliver 60 fps. If a component falls below minimum, the official specifications offer no supported performance promise. A strong graphics card paired with an older CPU may also miss a target; requirements are guidance, not a complete performance model.
Intel graphics and gaming laptops
The listed “Intel discrete equivalent” wording does not name a specific Intel Arc model. IOI and Steam do not provide a model-by-model equivalency, so an Intel GPU should not be matched by name alone. Architecture, VRAM, drivers, ray-tracing capability and game-specific optimization can all matter. Check current game-driver notes and independent tests when available.
Laptop buyers should likewise check the exact GPU and CPU configuration, not just a family name shared with desktop parts. Laptop power limits and cooling can affect sustained performance. Integrated graphics are not identified as an equivalent in the requirements. The SSD and free-space requirements apply to laptops too.

DLSS, ray tracing and Steam Deck
IO Interactive lists uncapped frame rate, DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, path tracing, DLSS Ray Reconstruction and detailed graphics customization. Its FAQ says DLSS is not enabled for the minimum, recommended and enthusiast categories; the Ultra target specifically calls for DLSS 4.5. DLSS is therefore not stated as necessary to meet the basic minimum or recommended targets. IOI’s launch-era material described path tracing and Ray Reconstruction as features planned for later in summer 2026; without a current patch confirmation in the cited material, their present availability should not be assumed.
The cited official sources do not establish a Steam Deck compatibility rating or verified Deck performance. Treat Deck play as unverified rather than labeling the game supported or unsupported based on these PC requirements.

IO Interactive’s FAQ gives May 27, 2026 as the standard release date and lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; its launch announcement confirms PC availability through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The announcement says the Nintendo Switch 2 version would follow later in summer 2026. Steam support data displays May 26, which can reflect storefront timing or regional release differences; IOI’s FAQ is the clearest source for the standard public date. IOI’s January announcement also said qualifying digital pre-orders received 24-hour early access.

If your PC is below the listed baseline, a console version may be an alternative to replacing several PC components. The Switch 2 version is a separate platform build and cannot be assessed by comparing its hardware directly with these PC requirements.
FAQ
Is 16 GB of RAM enough for 007 First Light?
It is the amount currently listed by Steam and IOI for minimum and recommended PC configurations. That is the official figure, not a guarantee of comfortable headroom in every setup; browsers, capture software and other background tasks use memory too. The older 32 GB recommended figure came from IOI’s January announcement, while 32 GB remains listed for its separate Ultra tier.
Can I install it on an HDD?
The requirements say an SSD is required. Free space on an HDD does not satisfy that requirement.
Is ray tracing required?
No. It is not listed as a requirement for the minimum or recommended targets. IOI lists path tracing and Ray Reconstruction among the game’s features, but the FAQ does not make them prerequisites for the basic tiers.
Does the game support multiplayer?
The cited requirements and platform information do not establish a multiplayer mode. Check IOI’s current game information for confirmed mode details rather than inferring them from the PC specifications.
